Focuses on the development and support of the Iraqi economy, investment, and reconstruction in particular. Its goal is to support and sponsor the private sector and investors in accordance with the Iraqi constitution and laws. The organization also participates in proposing or amending laws related to the economy and investment. The council enjoys independence, legal personality, financial independence, and administrative independence.
The council operates based on the principle of collective voluntary work in the service of investment and reconstruction. It aims to establish values and principles of economic cooperation between Iraq and all countries worldwide. The organization adopts an approach of acquaintance and cooperation, signing memoranda of understanding with local, Arab, and International Governments, organizations, and private companies, encouraging them to establish joint investment and reconstruction projects within Iraq and striving to provide a favorable investment environment.
